MY FIRST CHRISTMAS CAKE BALLS

I made my very first cake balls this year for the Family Christmas Party.  It was SUPER FUN!!

The credit has to go to Emma of MCT who is always inspiring me with her a amazing project and ideas.  Her DT has much to do with that also,

 Decorating the cake balls with candy coating and all the yummy sprinkles is my favorite part!!!  I am sooo looking forward to making more, more, more!!!    

I was sooo happy everyone LOVED the cake balls!!!

   

I do not post as often as I'd like to, but hopefully that will change soon, because I absolutely love sharing my projects with family and friends, who are always very supportive.

Last week was my sister-in-law's birthday and she is super sweet, so I wanted to make her card very special.  I know she loves flowers and anything vintage, so I made her card with a vintage style.

 

She was so grateful and loved the card.  She especially loved that I made it like an easal, so she can display it easier.

Xavier's 50th Birthday Banner

   Hello everyone.  Last week my family celebrated my brother's 50th Birthday and gave him a surprise party.  The expression on his face when he walked in was absolutely priceless.  He was overjoyed and sooo grateful.  This was the first party my brother had ever had, as he became a dad quite young and his whole life became his kids, so being surrounded by family and friends was already the perfect way to spend his birthday.  It was a party full of joy, laughter, surprises, dancing and lots and lots of LOVE!!!  

    I sooo had a fant-a-bu-lous time making these banners for my brother's party.  

    First, I know I wanted to make the pennants nice and big because we were hanging the banners in the backyard.

   Tim Holtz paper stash was perfect for this occasion, because  I wanted the banners to be both masculine and fun.

    Also, Tim Holtz stamp sets had the perfect sentiments.

    To make these I used several carts, but I used my gypsy and everything came together very easily and it's always fun using the G, because you can create as many sheets as you want, no. of copies, change sizes and weld (words/images) all in one project.  Once your done, you just have to cut the images.

    Below I put a small clip of some close up pics of the banners.  

    I love, love, love the way they turned out.  My brother was very happy and grateful.  Nothing beats putting a smile on someone's face and bringing them joy.

   To make the banners, I used the following products:

Altered Box - Treasure Box for Isabella

I made this altered box for Isabella Faith (my niece's baby) for her 1st Birthday.  She is an absolute joy and I wanted to make Treasure Box where her mom can store away special memories for her.  

 First, I painted the box with My Studio acrylic paint (Ivory), except for the rim of the lid, which I used (Bright Magenta).  Then I used wooden letters from my stash for "Isabella Faith" and painted them with Folk Art (Metallic Amethyst).  Lastly, on the letters I placed 2 or 3 gold flat back pearls on each letter (Queen&Co.).  Most of the flowers on the lid are from bunches I buy at a local Dollar Tree (I LOVE these flowers).  The butterflies are also from my local Dollar Tree store.  I stamped around the edges using Scrappy Cat swirly stamps with Stazon (Royal Purple) and several pearls as a extra touch on each stamp.  Finally, I used soft lilac tulle and tied like a bow and placed it just below the picture which is matted on a circle punch (EK Success - 2 3/4 ) and put on 1/2" dimensional pop squares.

The paper collections I used are Graphic 45 Little Darlings Collection and DCWV Mariposa.  I punched out circles and flowers using EK Success circle 2 3/4" and flower 3".  I did some distressing Tim Holtz -Victorian Velvet (of course, distressing is almost always a must with my projects..lol).  In some of the circles I matted Little Darling paper and are some I punched out pictures of Isabella and her Mom.  I embellished this side with some more butterflies and pearl strands.  Lastly, I tore away at the upper right hand corner and distressed to get a little peak at the beautiful Mariposa paper underneath.

 On this side of the box I matted pictures of Isabella and her mom and with Fiskars 1" circle punch I punched out images from the Little Darlings paper and adhered to Epiphany Crafts bubble caps .  I embellished with just one butterfly and a dragonfly and beautiful ribbon from my stash I trimmed the bottom of the box.  Lastly, to really appreciate the Mariposa paper, I tore away and distressed on the right hand side of the box.

Finally, on the inside of the box I painted with Bright Magenta acrylic paint, tore and decoupaged Mariposa paper.  I then adhered a clear frame (Princess) over her photo and to the inside of the box.

Making this box for Isabella is more than just a gift to me.  It's a something she will always have that will remind her of me and how much I love her.

I made the following three projects for two of my best friends for their birthday and had such a FABULOUS time.  

 To make this tag I used the following products and techniques: I die cut a tag with the cricut (forgot what cart I used, sorry!); fun fur through the top of the tag and lace ribbon at the bottom (used Tattered Angels mist spray on the lace),

 Crafty Secrets stamp set (Material Girl) and glossy accents on the needle and scissors, hemp around the spool and button from my stash, mini flower also from my stash and lastly I cut out the beautiful lady from DCWV Lady Couture paper stack (used liqua pearls on the dress to give a nice shiny touch).

To alter the Clothespin I used the following products and techniques: I painted the clothespin with metallic purple acrylic paint and distressed the edges with TH (Black Sooth), Prima pearls, Flonz Pinup Sexy Girl stamp set and colored in with ProMarkers and trimmed the dress with pink liqua-pearls.

  Satin flower (my stash) and Prima (white flower); vintage charms (my stash), fringe and fun fur ribbon (my stash).

 I could not believe how happy my friend was to receive this her altered clothespin.  It brings me such joy!!

Products and techniques I used to alter box:  I painted the box in metallic pink acrylic paint, then distressed it with TH (Black Soot), I used Graphic 45 Steampunk paper all around the edges and inside (sorry, I forgot to take pics of the inside of the box),

Flonz Pinup Sexy Girl stamp set (the lady and mannequin), painted with Promarkers and glossy accents for dimension, TH (ornate plate) , mini flowers (my stash).

 Pretty fringed ribbon (my stash) all around the box and Prima pearls and mini flowers also all around the box.

 Lastly, I used Prima flowers and vintage charms and buttons (my stash).

This gift was for my other friend and she was also so unbelievably happy to receive her gift.  Seeing their reactions and making them happy is absolutely my favorite part of crafting!!!
